The Manvils are a Canadian rock band from Vancouver. The band, consisting of singer, songwriter and guitarist Mikey Manville, lead guitarist Mark Parry, bassist Greg Buhr and drummer Jay Koenderman. 2005-present.
This is indeed a long email sorry, but both Mikey and Mark are listed in Wikipedia. Mark originally from Wales.
The band play a brand of rock music strongly influenced by 1960s British Rock music styles. Their debut album "Buried Love" is influenced more by 60s psychedelic music. They have played with many bands in their short career thus far including Stereophonics, The Bellrays, Horrorpops, They Might Be Giants, The High Dials, Darediablo, and the SuicideGirls to name a few.
The bands live show is known to be unpredictable and intense.
The band appeared on the front page of the popular Canadian fashion/Music magazine ION in the April 2006 edition.
In September of 2006, the band were awarded the "Best Of Vancouver 2006" by The Georgia Straight Newspaper.
Their music has been featured in films and television including the award winning CBC Television documentary series "Moscow Freestyle" and they are also featured performing in a 2007 Budweiser Beer commercial.

Background information
Birth name Mark James Parry
Origin Aberdare, Wales
Genre(s) Rock, Indie Rock, Neo-psychedelic Rock
Years active 2006-present
Mark Parry is the lead guitarist for the Canadian based indie rock group The Manvils. He Currently resides in Vancouver Canada.
Mark was born in Aberdare, Wales but lived most of his life in Swansea. He began playing guitar at the age of 13, after playing various other instruments including piano, flute, oboe, clarinet and violin. He spent countless hours practicing his instrument, along with cassette tapes of his favourite musicians such as Paul Kossoff, Jimmy Page, Pete Townshend, Syd Barret, Brian Jones etc. He became an accomplished guitarist and has played with some well known musicians in the Uk.
In 2004 he moved to Vancouver to study at the University of British Columbia and in November 2004 became friends with singer/songwriter Mikey Manville after meeting at a video store where Manville worked at the time. Their love of music encouraged them to form The Manvils with bassist Greg Buhr and drummer Andy Mac in November 2004.
In May of 2005, The Manvils opened for the Uk based band Stereophonics and following the show he was asked by Kelly Jones to join them as second guitarist for their world tour.
I think this would be of interest to my blog and a lot of your music listeners. I think they will play the UK in the very near future and I do think they are great not only because he is my cousin but has that soul and charisma and puts all of his soul into the music and Mark is a great bassist as well as the other two members Greg and Jay.
Well hope this works.
Love
Leila xo
