Orchid Star at Waveform Festival 2007

The very informal interview with that lovely band Orchid Star is on its way uploading into hyper-space ready for your delectation on InTouchRadio.net OnLine All The Time.

Loosely informal from an over-tired Michael Dixon of InTouchRadio.net fully chilled and not stirred after finding out about tent life once again and now no longer a boy scout, was he ever a boy scout!

The wine zone had left him able to slumber on a blow-up bed with a sleeping bag that should have retired many moons ago, oh, such is festival life. A bright sun and the sound of the daily sanitation truck triggered life into the slumbering form and after finding out why zips are zips he maneuvered around tightened guy ropes like some practicing ballerina looking for a hard wooden stage.

The call to the Press Tent came early, the night before had been late. Already the thunder of Drum n' Bass resounded through nylon canvass as a bottle of unnamed water was thrust into his still wine dehydrated and less than sure hands.

"We've arranged Orchid Star for you - they're in there now"... the eyes clocked movement but this was obviated a late summer butterfly looking for he same heat that Michael's body searched for.

“Got your kit ready?” the words almost coincided with a distant back-beat coming from the main stage. “Kit?” the word seemed to be foreign – another obviate from some alien language – perhaps this was dream not awake state. His mind reconciled the possibilities in the now landed butterfly.

Car boot open – Tascam HD-P2 out of case, Audio Technica Stereo Mic in windshield – the hands slightly shaking, the eyes operating out of demand rather than voluntary. “No more wine” the mind spoke, the hands followed the thought and ‘slam’ as the car boot closed followed by the analogous ‘clunk’ of the automatic self locking Citroen.

Another set of obstructions passed as he teased through the tent pegs and restraints and into the brightly organised Press Tent and there they were all seated and ready to go like a packed lunch.

They knew, they understood, they had been partially responsible for the current state of Michael’s being-ness… How could they be so positively bright – Age came the silent whisper in Michael’s brain – Age.
