Peach Dead At 59
Richard Peach has died, aged 59. (ABC)
- Former ABC broadcaster Richard Peach, the voice behind the speaking clock, has died at the age of 59.
He died in Yogyakarta in Indonesia on Sunday after a long battle with illness and was cremated yesterday.
Mr Peach started his career at the ABC in Adelaide in the 1960s.
His sister, Jan Park, says it was his wish to be laid to rest in the tropics.
The speaking clock was a telephone service by which countless Australians set their clocks with accuracy.
