American Independence Day

Hi Everyone

Firstly to our American ITR Family - Celebrations for this Independence Day 2009.

I'm in North Yorkshire visiting my partner Carol's family in Middlesbrough to celebrate her mother June's 80th Birthday.

While here we're travelling around North Yorkshire making connections adding to the ITR (InTouchRadio.net) Family and what great people the people of the North are - friendly and food like you can't believe.

Leeds - M1 Motorway Nearly There...

Knowing we were coming up I felt it only fair to use the time wisely and to make connections wherever we travelled - even in the remote Moors and Dales of this beautiful part of the UK.

Well we've made the trip up to North Yorkshire - some 380+ miles with at least a 1/3rd of it at 50 mph - sections of the main M42 - M1 either closed or truncated meaning an extension of the journey around Birmingham - no problem just an hindrance at 4 am after leaving sleepy Somerset at 3.25 am.

I've added some picts to elucidate the journey more fully and to give an early viewpoint of travel via main motorways here in the UK.

Pre Sunrise and post sunrise - tired and as a passenger loaded with Nikon pulling pictures like a bar-tender through a dirty screen but hey the intention and the energy lifted colours that could only be associated with childhood memories of breeding budgerigars in my dad's shed...
